Mission Ball – Basketball

Description

We are super excited about the potential for the basketball and also the quality of the product. It will have a pebble surface, be durable enough for outdoor use, and also nice enough for indoor use. We have had some basketball “experts” check out the ball and the response has been wonderful. I asked one guy what he would expect to pay for the ball if he saw it in a sporting goods store and he said, “easily $30, probably more.”

Here are the specifications on the basketball:

The cover of the basketball is PU leather
– the brown color (text) panel has coating
– the blue panel (no text) does not
The bladder is rubber with 600-800 polyester / nylon wound.
The ink can last long time, since the printing is covered.

PU (PolyUrethane) Leather also known as Bi-cast leather or laminated leather

PU leather is not 100% leather; strictly speaking, it is not even leather, but a leather by-product, and is made from split leather which is then laminated and strengthened with a polyethylene top layer. PU leather is a coating of Polyurethane on a thin layer of leather. After the polyethylene coating is applied, grain patterns are embossed into the surface to make it look more leather-like.
